Where it’s from

The Snow White Waffle plant is native to Indonesia and India. It can also be found it other warm tropical areas such as Florida. These plants come in a few different variegations from white and purple, to deep red and even a metallic like green. Due to it’s tropical origin and vibrant colors it’s a great plant for a terrarium.

Water

The Snow White Waffle plant needs to be moist at all time. It can’t be left to sit in water and it will die if it gets too dry. Moist is the goal for these lovely plants. Look to water every 5-7 days, more may be needed in a drier climate. They would also enjoy a nice misting now and again to add humility and moisture to the air.

Easy Pro Tip: If you forget to water and it wilts, it will recover in hours with a good watering. Don’t give up!

Light

These are true medium light plants. Too Much light and the color will bleach out. Not enough light and the purple variegation can fade out. East facing is ideal. Make sure it gets a quarter turn when watered to prevent reaching.

Repot

These are small plants and likely will not need re-potting for years. Interestingly, Waffle’s love to consume their dirt, be prepared to add additional dirt in every few months.

Don’t Over Love

It does not need any pruning. This is a great plant for an office, just make sure you have some one water it if you go on vacation, moist is the goal!
